Afenifere Leader Senator Ayo Fasanmi has felicitated with President Muhammadu Buhari on his inauguration today for a second term in office.
In a statement, the elder statesman said: “We, members of Afenifere (Egbe Ilosiwaju Yoruba), congratulate President Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo as they take the oaths of office to begin another four-year term. I wish them a repeat of brilliant performance in the new dispensation.
“We also seize this opportunity to thank the good people of the Southwest for voting according to our advice during the Yoruba Summit Conference on January 29 at the University of Ibadan (UI) Conference Centre. At the conference, we urged the Yoruba to vote overwhelmingly for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the Southwest in view of the similarity of the party’s manifesto with the defunct Action Group (AG), the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) and Alliance for Democracy (AD). They, like APC, were known for welfare of the people.
“We pray God to guide and protect Mr President to lead us throughout this new dispensation to achieve full employment for our youths, greater security and prosperity for Nigerians.”
