12 security tips during elections on Saturday
A village in Rijau local government area in Niger state in Saturday decided they were not going to vote in the governorship and House of Assembly elections.

The people in the village called Angwan Guga Gusai insist that they were not going to cast vote for a government that have abandoned them for a long time.

The Collation officer for Rijau local government area, Dr. Mustapha Alhaji said the villages emphatically told them not to come and conduct election in the village.

He said they threatened them harm should they ignore the warning and insist on coming to the village.

“The people said they do not want voting and that we should not come except we are looking for trouble. They said if we want trouble, we should come.

“Because we do not want trouble, we decided not to conduct voting in the area.”

Meanwhile, in Lavun local government area, the collation officer, Dr. Ayo Ijegun said a card reader was snatched by thugs in Ndaloke polling unit while ballot box and papers were destroyed in Gima polling unit.
