Shatta Wale Talks Beyonce Feature, Slams Sarkodie

We recently reported that Ghanaian music star, Shatta Wale is one of the African artistes to get a feature on the Lion King inspired album, “The Lion King: The Gift” curated by international mega superstar songstress, Beyonce.

The album is set for release on Friday, the 18th of July and from the tracklist released already, Shatta Wale will be on a song with Beyonce titled “Already”.

With the news of Shatta Wale’s feature on the project, fellow Ghanaian music artiste, Sarkodie took to Twitter to congratulate his countryman but Shatta Wale appears nothing of what he is considering ‘fake love’.
Sarkodie had tweeted:
“Welcome home Queen @Beyonce officially Big shouts @shattawalegh !!! And all our brothers and sisters on there … Big One for the culture.”
Reacting to Sarkodie’s congratulatory message during an interview with Zylofon FM, Shatta Wale slammed the former as a hypocrite for congratulating him for being the only Ghanaian artiste to work with Beyonce on the Lion King Album.

According to Shatta Wale, the Sarkcess Music Records Boss’ tweet is not from the heart and he hates the fact that Sarkodie has always been acting like a boss. Shatta Wale said:
“Sarkodie has become too known. He was recently on Hitz FM and he was trying to pose big to me. I don’t pose big to people. Music is not about your dress and it’s not about how you speak.
I don’t want hypocrites around me. Sarkodie has always been a hypocrite. I didn’t wish him on his birthday. He thinks he can tweet about my collabo and make people say he’s a matured person. I won’t retweet his tweet. He can say that message but I know deep down within him it wasn’t a real tweet.”

It is noteworthy that the two Ghanaian artistes’ beef has been on for a while. It was reignited in 2018 after Shatta Wale accused Sarkodie of failing to appear for the video shoot of a song they did together. He rebuked Ghanaian artists for not being supportive of each other and was quite angry that Sarkodie was shooting a video with a Nigerian artiste.

Speaking about how he got featured on the Beyonce curated album, the dancehall artiste revealed that he was contacted by her management to work on the project. He also hinted that when she embarks on a tour for the album. he will definitely be billed to perform. He said:
“She’s (Beyonce) gonna go on tour. They have told us we are gonna be on that tour (SM team).”
Other African stars featured on the album include Wizkid, Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Moonchild Sanely, and Tekno.
