‘I Don’t Own A Property In Abuja Or Lagos,’ Says Nwaoboshi After Assets Forfeiture By FG

Senator Peter Nwaoboshi says the properties seized by the Special Presidential Investigation Panel (SPIP) for the recovery of public property do not belong to him.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District disclosed this in Abuja on Monday.

He explained that only three of his accounts were frozen and the funds in the account are not too big for a Senator.
“None of the properties sealed or which they have a forfeiture order is my properties. I have said that before and I am saying it again that they are not my properties.

“I don’t own a property in Warri, I don’t own a property in Lagos. I don’t own a property in Maitama, Abuja and all these accounts.

“I challenge SPIP to publish what is in all these accounts for Nigerians to see how much I won and whether the money in these accounts are too big for a Senator,” he said.

Chairman of the Special Presidential ‎Investigation Panel on the Recovery of Public Property, Okoi Obono-Obla had earlier on Sunday disclosed that some properties linked to Nwaoboshi, in Lagos and Delta states were sealed.

Some of the properties sealed by the Presidential Panel includes: Summing Electrical Company located at Asagba along Asaba Airport Road, Asaba, Delta State; PON filling station along Asaba Airport Road, Asaba, Delta State, and a Multibillion Naira Estate under construction at Maryam Babangida Road, Asaba, Delta State.

Others are: Cartage Cinema located at Okpana Road beside Rain Oil Petrol Station, Asaba, Delta State; Newbridge filling Station along Airport Road, Warri, Delta State and a house at No 8 Monu Olanrewaju Crescent, GRA, Asaba, Delta State.

The senator was recently referred to the office of the department of public prosecutions, federal ministry of justice by the special presidential investigation panel for allegedly making false assets declaration in his form ccb1 submitted to the code of conduct bureau.

Other properties sealed in Lagos are Guinea House, at No 27, Marina Road, Apapa and a multi-billion building located at 41, Burma road, Apapa, Lagos.

The seizure of the properties follows the July 2, 2019 ruling of Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja, ordering the interim forfeiture of 11 properties and 22 bank accounts linked to ‎the senator.
