Anambra Advertisement Agency To Employ Adhoc Personnel For Revenue Collection



The Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency(ANSAA ) saysitwillcommencerecruitment of ad-hoc personnel to assist in ensuring that all obituaries, marriageceremonies, churchbanners, as well as all other advertisement notices are paid for in the villages andcommunities.

The agency also is currently establishing offices in all the 179 communities of the 21 local government areas in Anambra State to ensure that its presence isestablishedinallthenooksand crannies of the state for proper regulation of advertisement notices, signages and to enable local governmentinformationofficers synergize with the agency to realise its objective.

The Managing Director of the agency, Jude Emecheta, who disclosed these developments to journalists in Awka at the weekend, alsorevealedthattheagency would introduceelectronicadvertising basically for aesthetics, as well as to generate more revenue for the government.

Emecheta explained that the state Internal Revenue Service was solely responsible for the collection of revenues but stressed that the advertisement and signage agency was obligated to issue demand notices, as well as ensure that revenues were remitted to government coffers through the board of internal revenue service.
