Perhaps the above fact may have skipped Sen Lawan but suffice it to state that the emergence of Chiefs Olusegun Obasanjo and Olu Falaye as the major contenders in the 1999 presidential contest was not a coincidence. The then nations power brokers led by the mastermind of June 12 himself, Gen Ibrahim Babangida plotted the consolation. If not for MKO Abiola, then outgoing Head of State, Gen Abdusalami Abubakar, would have succeeded himself in the new democratic regime and nobody would have stopped him.
So far, Nigerians are happy and pleased with President Buhari for his benevolence to the late MKO Abiola. His first son, Kola Abiola, granted an interview recently expressing satisfaction with FG's gesture so far. The late Chief MKO himself for sure will be happy in his grave with the posthumous recognition given to him lately.
Whatever, Nigerians know about Sen Lawan's sponsors and their 2023 ambition. But, for god sake, can politicians please let the great MKO to now rest in peace? Their hypocrisy is becoming disgusting. After all, are they not the same characters that MKO's son, Kola Abiola, recently exposed as hypocrites who went kneeling, begging Gen Abacha for Lagos state commissionership positions but when that failed, they resorted to join NADECO's activism? Sen Lawan should please tell us another story. This particular one will not fly.
