that it would be impossible for All Progressives Congress National Leader,
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, or any Igbo politician, to take over the mantle of
leadership from President Muhammadu Buhari, in 2023.
Backstory: Speaking with the Sun Newspaper, Bodejo explained that he does not believe in the rotation of power between the North and South as Northerners are being treated in a stereotypical and der.tory manner in some parts of the country.
“That kind of hatred has been there among some Southerners. It will be difficult for
the Igbo to rule this country because they have something in their mind that is
not good. The country is more than a tribe coming to hate some ethnic region,
religion and so on. They should know that Nigeria is one.”
Addressing rumors that Tinubu might run for president in 2023, Bodejo said, “What I know
is that Tinubu cannot be the president of Nigeria. That is the truth.”
He further gave a detailed explanation on why he thought so, stating that contrary
to popular opinion, Tinubu is not powerful, comparing him to former president
Olusegun Obasanjo.
“Some people think that he is a Yoruba leader but he is not. He is also like
Obasanjo; some people see the former president as a small god but he is not. In
my last interview before the elections, I said that Obasanjo has only one vote
like any other person.”
“If Tinubu is recognized by the Yoruba people as their leader, why did Buhari score
50 percent there? Tinubu has failed and that is the truth.”
