ABUJA – THE Presidency Thursday night mocked the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, saying that since the party suffered heavy loss in the just concluded presidential election the party was doing everything possible to damage the foundation of democracy in the country. PDP Convention venue The Presidency reaction came on the heels of allegation that the All Progressives Congress, APC-led government was planning to stoke violence in Taraba state to pave way for a declaration of state of emergency. The PDP also accused the presidency of planning to rig the rerun election in Sokoto state by using the military to intimidate the electorate. But reacting to the allegations, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu said, “I don’t think we will comment. Since they suffered the biggest election loss in all presidential elections in the Fourth Republic, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has been doing everything they can to damage the foundation of the country’s struggling democracy.
